Total Coat Sound Control's effectiveness & low cost, combined with the ease of application and durable protection, make it a technology that is being increasingly used by itself or as the foundation for all other sound dampening application materials and needs.

Total Coat products provide proven results with immediately noticeable benefits, such as improved driving pleasure and comfort, while protecting your vehicle from corrosion and abrasion. One application is expected to last the life of the vehicle without requiring any more maintenance and care.

Total Coat® Sound Control products can be applied to the following areas for best results:

Undercoating: A solid layer of coating underneath will dampen road, mechanical and tire noise. The additional benefit is long-term protection from rock chipping and corrosion (aided by rust inhibitors contained in the Total Coat® formula), along with some thermal insulation.
Wheel wells: Coating under the wheel wells where metal may be exposed is critical for reducing tire noise, corrosion and rock chipping. On many cars, interior wheel wells can also be coated for additional dampening.
Engine Compartment: Coating under the hood, on the firewall and around engine compartment surfaces, are obvious solutions for reducing noise before it penetrates into the passenger compartment.
Trunk: The trunk represents a large expanse of sheet metal that can conduct sound into the passenger compartment. The added benefit of coating the lower surfaces is reducing the potential for corrosion in areas where water frequently collects.
Passenger Compartment: Coating the inside firewall, rear wall of pickup cabs, floors, and ceilings can also result in significant benefits in terms of reducing sound vibration penetration.
Doors: Doors are one of the more challenging areas to get access to and keep clean, but the benefits of doing so are great. Application is still straightforward, though care must be exercised to avoid getting coating on moving mechanical parts and glass. This is an area where it is also good to use Total Coat's sound dampening products between the door and the inside door cover.

Below are a some examples of sound dampening coating applications using Total Coat®. Experience has shown that applying Sound Control and/or Sound Control Premium can lower interior sound levels by between 5 to 8 decibels.

Hummer H1 - Sound Control - A reduction of 4-5 decibels (30% noise reduction) using 8 bottles of Sound Control and Sound Control Premium.
Toyota Land Cruiser - Sound Control - A reduction of 7-8 decibels using 9 bottles of Sound Control and Sound Control Premium.
Pickup truck bedliner - Applying Multi Coating will protect the truck bed from abrasion and corrosion and will also reduce load slippage. It is a perfect way of rejuvenating your truck bed with a beautiful non-skid textured coating.
Aluminum Boat - Sound Control Marine - A noticeable reduction on the usual noise associated with aluminum boats by using Sound Control Marine.
